A 26-year-old motorcyclist died in a collision with a tractor at Sooriyawewa along the Mahawelithenna road under the Welikanda Police Division on Sunday night.
The motorcycle, traveling towards Mahawelithenna from Singhapura Junction, collided head-on with a tractor coming from the opposite direction. The injured motorcyclist was admitted to Polonnaruwa Hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased was a resident of Welikanda. The tractor driver has been taken into custody, and Welikanda Police are carrying out further investigations. (Newswire)
