Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa says that President Ranil Wickremesinghe and NPP leader Anura Dissanayake have struck a deal regarding the 2nd preference vote in the upcoming Presidential Election.
The Opposition Leader mentioned that the SJB is not concerned about the 2nd preference, as the party will win in the first round.
He pointed out that the President, who is contesting the election, is unable to give a passport or visa, and that this government is incapable of solving the country’s issues. Premadasa highlighted the severe delays in issuing passports and visas, which have become a barrier for suppliers and buyers entering the country, affecting the garment sector and tourism. He blamed these delays on corrupt deals by the government.
Premadasa demanded that the President stop making secret deals with Anura and focus on fixing the passport and visa issuance process. He stated that if these individuals are given responsibility for the country, there will be no security for the people, and called for the defeat of the Ranil-Anura grand conspiracy.
