A woman, her 12-year-old daughter, and another man were injured in a shooting incident that occurred early this morning in Suduwella, Kosgama, police confirmed.
According to reports, the victims were travelling in a three-wheeler when they came under fire by two individuals who arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire using a pistol-type firearm.
The injured have been identified as a 30-year-old mother and her daughter from Avissawella, along with a 44-year-old male passenger. All three were admitted to the Avissawella Hospital for treatment.
The motive behind the shooting and the identities of the suspects have not yet been determined. Kosgama Police have launched an investigation and are continuing efforts to apprehend the suspects.
