4-in-4 NPP’s tie-break luck stays unbeaten – Opposition 0

The National People’s Power (NPP) has once again secured control of a local council through a tie-break draw—this time at the Balapitiya Pradeshiya Sabha.

Both the NPP candidate and the opposing side received an equal number of votes in the chairman election. With no clear winner, a draw of lots was held, and the NPP emerged victorious.

This marks the fourth instance in recent weeks where the NPP has won a council through a tied vote being resolved in its favour, following earlier victories in Madagama, Dehiowita, and Soronathota.

On all four occasions, luck went in favour of the NPP—leaving the opposition on the losing end each time. (Newswire)
