An 8-year-old child has died after suffering an electric shock at a residence in the Sangilikandarawa area within the Medawachchiya Police Division.
Police said the incident occurred yesterday evening (27), and a complaint was later filed with the Medawachchiya Police. The child had reportedly sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the Medawachchiya Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on admission.
Initial investigations reveal that the child had been using an electric water heater when the incident occurred.
