A Deputy Commissioner and a Clerk attached to the Department of Motor Traffic, along with a broker, have been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC). The arrest was made while the trio were soliciting a bribe of Rs. 300,000.
According to CIABOC, the bribe was demanded for facilitating the ownership transfer of three buses. The arrests were made during a raid conducted by the Bribery Commission following a complaint received.
The suspects are expected to be produced before court as investigations continue. (NewsWire)
