The Department of Irrigation has issued a flood warning to several areas, effective for the next 48 hours.
Flood warnings have been issued to the low-lying areas of Pasgoda, Kotapola, Pitabeddara, Akuressa, Athuraliya, Malimbada, Thihagoda, Kamburupitiya, Matara and Devinuwara Divisional secretariat Divisions.
The warning has been issued due to the rise in the water levels of the Nilwala River due to the heavy rains being experienced in the area. (Newswire)
