Two suspects have been arrested on charges of transporting materials used for explosives, in the Padaviya area in the Anuradhapura District yesterday.
The Police said the suspects had been arrested following the inspection of a car based on a tip-off.
During the inspection, the Police found 75kg of gunpowder, 300 detonator pins, 90 gelignite pins, and other equipment from the suspects’ car.
The arrested suspects are aged 28 and 38 years and are residents of Hithogama and Mapaladikulama.
