33 projects in the East to be funded by Sri Lanka-India MoU

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement 33 development projects in Sri Lanka’s Eastern Province, with a total allocation of Rs. 2,371 million.

The initiative focuses on key areas such as education, health, agriculture, irrigation, tourism, and community empowerment, Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Nalinda Jayathissa said.

Specific funding allocations include Rs. 315 million for education, Rs. 780 million for health, Rs. 620 million for agriculture, and Rs. 230 million for fisheries.

The projects aim to improve infrastructure, boost economic growth, and enhance social empowerment in the region.
