A suspect was arrested with 2 kilograms of heroin during a raid conducted by officers of the Colombo Crime Division in the Udumulla area of the Mulleriyawa Police Division.
The operation was carried out in the early hours of yesterday (28) as part of the nationwide crime and drug prevention operations being implemented by the Sri Lanka Police under the instructions of the Acting Inspector General of Police.
During the raid at a residence, officers seized 2 kilograms and 218 grams of heroin, Rs. 667,000 in cash suspected to have been earned from drug trafficking, three mobile phones, and a car used for drug transportation.
The arrested suspect is a 41-year-old resident of the Mulleriyawa area.
Investigations have revealed that the suspect was engaged in drug trafficking under the direction of a drug trafficker residing overseas.
