Jaffna District MP Archchuna Ramanathan has been granted bail after being produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court today.
The MP was arrested earlier in Jaffna following an incident in the Rambewa area, where he was accused of obstructing police duties. A viral video showed MP Archchuna refusing to comply with traffic police officers after being stopped for using unauthorized VIP lights on his vehicle. He was also seen verbally abusing the officers during the confrontation.
Following the incident, a case was filed, leading to his arrest. After being presented before the Anuradhapura Magistrate’s Court, the MP was released on bail. Further legal proceedings are expected to continue.
