Starting today (Feb. 5), Members of Parliament must pay Rs. 2,000 for their daily meals, following a decision by the Parliament’s House Committee.
The meal price, previously set at Rs. 450, was increased based on a proposal from the ruling party. Under the new pricing, breakfast at the Parliament canteen will cost Rs. 600, lunch Rs. 1,200, and evening tea Rs. 200.
Although the decision took effect on February 1, Parliament reconvenes today for the first time since its implementation. (Newswire)
