The government has set new certified prices for paddy purchases by the Paddy Marketing Board (PMB), Agriculture Minister K.D. Lal Kantha said.
Under the new rates, Nadu paddy will be priced at Rs. 120 per kilo, Samba paddy at Rs. 125 per kilo and Keeri Samba paddy at Rs. 132 per kilo.
Only dry paddy will be purchased, the Minister said, adding that the decision aims to ensure fair prices for farmers while stabilizing the rice market. The Paddy Marketing Board will begin purchasing immediately, the Ministers said. (Newswire)
