India’s Adani Green Energy has reportedly decided to withdraw from its US$1 billion wind energy project in Sri Lanka.
Despite securing most approvals, the company cited delays, including unresolved environmental clearance and a Supreme Court case.
With a new committee set to renegotiate terms, Adani Green has reportedly informed Sri Lanka’s Board of Investment (BOI) of its decision to “respectfully withdraw”, but remains open to future collaborations, Newswire learns.
However, an official statement from the Adani Group is yet to be released, while an official response from Sri Lanka is also awaited. (Newswire)
