Cabinet nod to continue with draft bill on Gambling Regulation Authority

Cabinet approval has been granted for the Legal Draftsman to continue formulating the draft bill for the establishment of the Authority to regulate gambling.

According to the government, approval of the Cabinet of Ministers was granted at their meeting held in June 2023 to establish the Gambling Regulation Authority.

Per the approval, the Authority was to be established as an independent entity with a broad and complete subject arena to standardize gambling institutions, minimize social damage, promote the tourism sector and ensure economic growth.

However, the Legal Draftsman has informed that the concurrence of the current Cabinet of Ministers is sought to continue the process of drafting bills.
