The Supreme Court earlier today issued an injunction order preventing Deshabandu Tennakoon from performing his duties as the Inspector General of Police (IGP). Following this decision, the government held a Cabinet meeting early this evening to discuss the matter.
During the meeting, it was decided that the government’s response to the Supreme Court’s decision will be declared within the next two days, after thorough deliberation of all legal aspects involved. (Newswire)
