15 min phone call from President AKD to PM Modi

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has condemned the recent attack in Pahalgam, India, in which several tourists were killed by terrorists.

According to the President’s Office, President Dissanayake expressed his views during a telephone call, which lasted for nearly 15 minutes, with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.  

Stating that he was deeply shocked to learn of this terrorist attack, the President said Sri Lanka has always been bound by brotherhood with the people of India.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake also emphasised that he strongly condemns terrorism wherever it occurs in the world.

The President expressed the condolences of the Government and people of Sri Lanka to the victims of this brutal terrorist attack and their families, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

President Dissanayake further stated that Sri Lanka hopes to see the tense situation that has developed due to the current situation be quickly resolved and regional peace be established. (Newswire)
