Malini Fonseka’s final rites to be held with state honours

The final rites of Sri Lankan veteran actress Malini Fonseka will be held at the Independence Square with State Honours, the Minister of Cultural Affairs announced today. 

The minister said the final rites of the late actress will be held on Monday, 26 May 2025.

Meanwhile, the remains of the late actress will lie in state for public respect on Sunday (25 May) from 10 am at the Tharangani Hall of the National Film Corporation premises.

Malini Fonseka, the revered “Queen of Sri Lankan Cinema,” passed away at the age of 78 in Colombo today.
