The SLPP Puttalam District Committee has unanimously approved a proposal to take measures to ensure the victory of President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the upcoming election.
The decision was made during a meeting held this morning at the residence of former Minister Priyankara Jayaratne.
The meeting was chaired by Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, former Minister and MP for Kurunegala District, who is also leading operations for the new political alliance.
Parliamentarians Jagath Priyankara and Ali Sabry were in attendance, while State Minister Arundika Fernando was absent due to overseas commitments.
Notably, four out of the six government-supporting MPs from the Puttalam District participated in this decision-making process.
The gathering also included former Provincial Minister Sandhya Kumara Rajapaksa and several local government representatives.
