Iran warns of “everlasting consequences” following US strikes on nuclear sites

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, strongly condemned the United States’ airstrikes on its nuclear installations earlier today, describing them as a “grave violation of the UN Charter, international law and the NPT.” He denounced the attacks as “outrageous” and “extremely dangerous, lawless and criminal behavior,” warning that they would produce “everlasting consequences.” Each member of the UN, he urged, must be “alarmed” by the severity of the action.

Araghchi stressed that Iran reserves “all options” under the UN Charter’s provisions on self-defense to respond and protect its sovereignty, interests, and people.

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed the strikes on the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites, calling them a “spectacular military success” and warning that further operations would follow unless Iran “makes peace.” Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed the strikes as “bold” and “transformative.”

Meanwhile, the UN nuclear watchdog reported no increase in off-site radiation levels, and Iran confirmed there was no radioactive contamination after evacuating personnel before the strikes.
