The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has announced new temporary appointments for several district-level leadership positions within the party.
According to media reports, MP Namal Rajapaksa has been appointed as the SLPP leader for the Anuradhapura Distric.
In Gampaha, State Minister Indika Anuruddha has been assigned as the district leader. Gampaha is one of the most politically significant districts in Sri Lanka, making this appointment crucial for the party.
State Minister Mohan De Silva has been appointed as the district leader for Galle.
For the Matara District, MP Nipuna Ranawaka has been appointed as the new leader.
These changes follow the decision of several previous district leaders to support President Ranil Wickramasinghe, rejecting the SLPP’s stance to back its own candidate. (Newswire)
