New Passport Token System : Notice from Immigration

The Department of Immigration and Emigration has announced a revised procedure for issuing tokens for passport services, effective from Monday, July 2, 2025.

According to the new system, tokens for both one-day and normal passport services will be issued at the department’s head office in Battaramulla from 6.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.

Applicants with urgent or pre-booked one-day service appointments may also submit their applications during this time frame. The department has urged the public not to arrive the night before, as tokens will be available to all applicants who arrive after 6.00 a.m. on the day of service.

Officials have also warned against paying brokers or intermediaries, reminding applicants that all payments should only be made at the official Shroff counter, and passports collected from the designated issuing counters. (Newswire)
