The Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Central Province successfully organized the ENRICH MSME Business Forum at Kandy Mist by Cinnamon to commemorate World MSME Day. The event brought together over 100 MSME organizations, including directors and senior officials, for an enriching and insightful gathering.
The forum featured four thematic sessions focusing on Human Resource Management, Marketing, Technology and Talent, and concluded with a Business Session. Each segment comprised a presentation by a subject matter expert followed by a panel discussion featuring three distinguished panelists, including a leading entrepreneur from the region and a high-ranking government official.
The event was graced by the presence of Hon. Sarath B.S. Abayakoon, Governor of the Central Province, as the Chief Guest, Her Excellency Mrs. Saranya V.S., Assistant High Commissioner of India, as the Guest of Honor, and Prof. Terrence Madhujith, Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, as the Guest of Honor. The Chairman, Deshamanya Jagath Dissanayake, and the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry also participated, making the occasion more significant.
In an interview, Project Chairman and Senior Vice Chairman of the Chamber, Mr. Azam Ameer, emphasized that the ultimate motive of the forum was to encourage and recognize the MSME sector in the region. He stated, “The activities of the Chamber are fully aligned with the growth and development of MSMEs, facilitating their journey to evolve into future corporates of the country.” Mr. Ameer also acknowledged the special contribution of MSMEs to Sri Lanka’s Gross Domestic Product.
The forum was conducted in strategic partnership with the Assistant High Commission of India and the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka. The event was well received by delegates, with highly interactive sessions and active audience engagement, making it an impactful and memorable initiative for the MSME sector.
