The Sri Lanka Navy, together with the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, has conducted another essential life-saving training for local fishermen.
According to the Navy, the training session was held at the Muthur Fishery Harbour in Trincomalee last week, equipping participants with vital skills for safer fishing activities.
Demonstrating its ongoing dedication to public welfare and community development, the Naval Command Hospital – East led the programme in which local fishermen were equipped with essential first aid and life-saving techniques vital for emergencies at sea.
The training also covered key areas, such as Basic Life Support (BLS), field triage, mental health awareness, addiction prevention and pre-non-communicable disease screening. (Newswire)
