Sirinivasa, the official residence of the Mayor of Colombo, is to be repurposed for broader public benefit, Colombo Mayor Vraie Cally Balthazaar announced this week.
Located on Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha, the heritage building was recently used for the shooting of an Indian film for nearly two weeks.
“This residence has been maintained with a significant amount of public funds. As promised, it will now be used for the children of Colombo, for the arts, for public events, and for city administration,” the Mayor said, following a visit to the premises after the filming concluded. (Newswire)
