The Samagi Jana Sandhanaya, a broad political alliance led by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) was launched under the aegis of Opposition and SJB Leader MP Sajith Premadasa today.
Several political parties, including the SJB, Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) faction of Dayasiri Jayasekera, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) faction of MP G.L. Peiris, Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) led by MP Mano Ganesan, MP Ruaff Hakeem’s Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC), the Nidhahas Janatha Sabhawa, the Purawesi Handa of former MP Arjuna Ranatunga signed an agreement to form the Samagi Jana Sandhanaya.
The new political coalition has been formed to support SJB candidate MP Sajith Premadasa in the upcoming Presidential polls.
According to the SJB, the new political alliance is the nation’s largest coalition and is aimed at achieving Sri Lanka’s triumph. (Newswire)
