Showers or thundershowers are likely to occur at times in the sea areas from Puttalam to Hambantota, passing through Colombo and Galle, the Department of Meteorology said.
Several sea areas around the island may also experience similar conditions during the afternoon or night.
Winds will be south-westerly, with speeds between 30-40 kmph, but could increase up to 55-60 kmph in certain areas, particularly off the coasts from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar, and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Kankasanthurai to Puttalam via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil are expected to be rough, with temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas expected during thundershowers.
