The National Building and Research Organization (NBRO) has issued a Level 2 Amber landslide warning for several areas in the country where over 100mm of rain was recorded in the 24 hours ending at 5:00 am today (17th).
The warning applies to the Neluwa, Yakkalamulla, Nagoda, and Elpitiya Divisional Secretariat (DS) Divisions and surrounding areas in the Galle District, as well as the Pitabeddara area in the Matara District.
Additionally, a landslide warning has been issued for the Bulathsinhala, Horana, Mathugama, and Ingiriya DS divisions in the Kalutara District.
In the Ratnapura District, the warning covers the Elapatha, Kalawana, Eheliyagoda, and Kuruwita DS divisions and surrounding areas.
The NBRO has also issued a Level 1 caution alert for landslides in several other areas across the country.
