In a significant move to revolutionize tech education in Sri Lanka, Trainocate Lanka (Private) Limited has officially partnered with the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on August 20, 2024. This strategic alliance marks a new chapter in the SriLankanization program, aiming to upskill 10,000 professionals in cutting-edge fields such as Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Security, Azure, and the Microsoft 365 Suite.
As part of this partnership, ESOFT, a leading educational institute and long-standing member of FITIS, has also entered into a MoU with FITIS. All ESOFT Higher National Diploma in Information Technology (HND-IT) students will gain exclusive access to the RESET learning platform, providing them with industry-demanding skills even before they graduate.
The SriLankanization program aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry, ensuring that students and professionals are equipped with the latest technological skills. This partnership will play a crucial role in driving Sri Lanka’s digital strategy forward, aligning with the country’s goal of becoming a regional tech hub by 2030.
Dr. Dayan Rajapakse, Senior Vice Chairman of FITIS and Chairman & Group Managing Director of ESOFT, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating: “This initiative is a game-changer for Sri Lankan education. By integrating industry-focused curricula into our programs, we are enhancing the work readiness of our young graduates, ensuring they are equipped with the skills that employers demand.”
Zafarullah Hashim, Managing Director of Trainocate SEANM and Gulf, highlighted the impact of the SriLankanization program: “Our partnership with FITIS and ESOFT is a testament to our commitment to empowering the next generation of Sri Lankan professionals. By providing access to advanced training in AI, Data Analytics, and more, we are helping to create a future-ready workforce that can drive the country’s digital transformation.”
Indika De Zoysa, Chairman of FITIS, added: “This collaboration embodies our vision of creating a robust IT ecosystem in Sri Lanka. Through initiatives like SriLankanization, we are not only addressing the skills gap but also fostering innovation and growth in the tech sector.”
