Light showers are likely to occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and North-western provinces, including Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts, the Department of Meteorlogy said.
Showers or thundershowers may also occur in Eastern and Uva provinces during the evening or night.
Fairly strong winds of 30-40 kmph are anticipated in the Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces, as well as in Hambantota district.
Meanwhile, sea areas from Galle to Pottuvil via Matara and Hambantota will experience showers or thundershowers, while light showers are expected in sea areas from Puttalam to Galle via Colombo.
Winds will be south-westerly, with speeds ranging from 30-40 kmph, increasing to 55-60 kmph in some areas, the Department siad.
Rough seas are expected from Mullaitivu to Puttalam and from Hambantota to Pottuvil, with fairly rough conditions from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle.
