Light showers are likely in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and North-western provinces, as well as in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts, the Department of Meteorology said.
Showers or thundershowers may occur in Badulla, Ampara, and Batticaloa districts, while several spells of showers are also expected in the sea areas off the coast from Puttalam to Galle via Colombo.
Winds will be south-westerly at 30-40 kmph, with speeds increasing up to 55-60 kmph in the sea areas from Trincomalee to Puttalam via Kankasanthurai and Mannar, and from Hambantota to Pottuvil. Wind speeds may also reach up to 50 kmph in sea areas from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle.
Fairly strong winds (30-40 kmph) are anticipated in Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces, as well as in Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
