The sun will be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka from today (28 Aug), the Department of Meteorology said.
Due to the sun’s apparent southward relative motion, it will be over the latitudes of Sri Lanka until 06 September 2024.
Accordingly, the nearest places of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today (28) are Delf Island, Pooneryn, Thadduvankoddi and Chundikkulam, at about 12.11 pm. (Newswire)
