National People’s Power (NPP) presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake urged voters to unite for a common goal at a rally held at Kilinochchi.
Dissanayake emphasized the need for solidarity between the North and South, saying NPP has already secured over 75%-80 support in postal votes
He appealed to the region’s youth, noting their shift away from traditional politics: “For the first time in history, the opportunity has arisen for the lower classes of our country to gain power.” Dissanayake also called for support to develop the nation, stating, “We are not forming a government for ministers and presidents to waste public wealth, but to provide a better life for all people.”
He further stressed that the upcoming elections present a crucial moment for real change, adding, “Together, the North and South can unite and win.” (Newswire)
