Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana has endorsed the certificate on the National Minimum Wage of Workers (Amendment) Bill today (11) in accordance with Article 79 of the Constitution.
The second reading of the Bill, aimed at amending the National Minimum Wage Act No. 3 of 2016, took place in Parliament on September 3. The Bill was passed without any amendments or a vote.
Accordingly, the Bill will now be recognized as the National Minimum Wage of Workers (Amendment) Act No. 48 of 2024. (Newswire)
