National People’s Power (NPP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake assured that his party will not abandon the government after six months, responding to false reports against his party.
“Earlier, they said we wouldn’t come to power. Then they started saying our government wouldn’t last six months. We haven’t come this far towards victory, only to abandon a government in six months,” Dissanayake said, addressing a rally in Kurunegala yesterday.
The NPP government, formed under his leadership, will be the strongest in the country’s history, the NPP leader said.
Dissanayake said that a wave of fake news and misleading reports will surface in the final ten days leading up to the presidential election.
Despite this, Dissanayake said that he is confident of an NPP victory. “Our opponents are troubled. We have been informed of a massive conspiracy against us, which we will not fall victim to,” he said. (Newswire)
