An inquiry has been initiated following the emergency landing of a backup helicopter escorting President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The Sri Lanka Air Force’s Bell 412 (SUH 522) made a sudden landing in a paddy field in Eppawala yesterday.
No injuries or damage to property were reported.
The Air Force is investigating the cause for the emergency landing according to Ada Derana.
A senior official from the President’s Security Division told Lankadeepa that the helicopter encountered a technical issue. After one hour, it was taken back to Colombo. (NewsWire)
