Showers or thundershowers are expected at times in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as Galle and Matara districts, the Department of Meteorology said.
Some areas are likely to experience fairly heavy rainfall of up to 50 mm, while North-western province and the Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts can expect several spells of showers.
In the Eastern and Uva provinces and Polonnaruwa district, showers or thundershowers may occur in the evening or night.
Strong winds ranging from 40 to 45 kmph are expected in the western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces, as well as Hambantota, Monaragala, and Trincomalee districts.
