12 youths have been arrested after performing motorbike stunts along the Kesbewa-Jaliyagoda alternative road, Police said.
18 motorbikes were seized while, six youth had fled the scene during the raid.
The raid had been conducted following complaints lodged with the Piliyandala Police that a large number of three-wheelers and motorbikes are used to perform stunts in the area, becoming a nuisance to the neighbourhood.
Following the complaint, at least 10 Police officers had been deployed to the area to arrest the young men, performing bike stunts for TikTok challenges.
Investigations had also revealed that some of the stunts were also performed for bets up to Rs. 100,000.
The group of youth had been released on bail, and will be produced before the Kesbewa court on Wednesday, September 18.
Meanwhile, Police are on the lookout for the young men who abandoned their bikes at the scene, based on the information on the bike number plates. (Newswire)
