An island-wide curfew has been imposed from 10 pm today (Sep 21) until 06 am tomorrow (Sep 22).
Despite the election having been conducted in a peaceful manner, the Police said the curfew has been imposed in view of the safety of the public.
Public have been advised to remain indoors during this period.
Officials on election duty and those working in essential services are advised to carry their official identification documents as a curfew pass.
Persons who are travelling to the airport for overseas travel are advised to carry their tickets and travel documents.
Persons who are returning from overseas travel have also been advised to use their air tickets and other travel documents as curfew passes. (Newswire)
