An adult male leopard is reported dead in Katukithula in the Central Province, according to LEOPOCON Sri Lanka.
The non-profit leopard conservation organization states that the cause of death is suspected to be Hakka Patas traps (an improvised explosive device).
LEOPOCON Sri Lanka further said that the Wildlife Department has recovered the carcass, and investigations are ongoing. (Newswire)
