The preferential votes for the Batticaloa District are as follows;
ITAK – 03 seats
Rasamanickam Shanakiyan – 65,458 votes
G. Srinesan – 22,773 votes
Srinath – 21,202 votes
NPP – 01 seat
K. Prabhu – 14,856 votes
SLMC -01 seat
