Sri Lankan police have retracted an earlier statement announcing the death of SLPP activist Dan Priyasad, who was shot at the Laksanda Sevana apartment complex in Meethotamulla.
While the police spokesman initially confirmed his death, a subsequent update clarified that Priyasad is still alive and currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Colombo National Hospital.
Investigations into the shooting are ongoing.
“Although initial reports stated that Dan Priyasad had passed away, we now confirm that he is not dead. He has sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU),” Police Media Spokesman said. pic.twitter.com/jdifKSALkT
