Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways Prasanna Gunasena says the halted Central Expressway project will resume, with the construction of the first phase commencing within the next two months.
He told the media that Sri Lanka is expecting approval from China’s EXIM Bank for the funds related to the project.
Deputy Minister Prasanna Gunasena further said that steps are being taken to resume construction following fruitful discussions held regarding the project during President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s recent tour to China.
The first phase of the Central Expressway is from Kadawatha to Mirigama spanning a distance of 37 km. (Newswire)
