The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court that investigations are underway regarding a potential plot to attack a presidential candidate.
According to a news report on Ada Derana, the inquiry was initiated following confidential information provided by a former police officer from the Kandy area. A statement from the informant has already been recorded.
Chief Magistrate Thilina Gamage has instructed the police to proceed with the investigation and arrest any suspects if identified. A highly classified report on the matter was submitted to the Magistrate on September 2nd. (NewsWire)
