A 36-year-old man from Wellampitiya has been arrested by the Cinnamon Gardens Police for allegedly entering a car without permission and threatening an 8-year-old girl and her mother. The incident took place on May 2 in Flower road area, where the suspect reportedly forced his way into the vehicle, pushed the child, and intimidated her.
Investigations revealed that the girl’s mother had just picked up her daughter from school and was about to drive when the suspect entered the vehicle and caused panic. The mother managed to get out of the car with her daughter and called for help, while the suspect fled the scene using a private hire vehicle.
Following a detailed investigation, police arrested the suspect today (7) in the Kolonnawa area. (Newswire)
