A complaint has been lodged with the Vavuniya Assistant Election Commissioner’s Office against a regional politician for posting a photo of a marked postal ballot on social media.
According to the Dinamina newspaper, The politician, a member of the EPRLF central committee, is accused of taking the photo at a postal voting center for government employees in Vavuniya. The ballot was marked in favor of the Tamil common candidate. Authorities are investigating the incident, with election observers also notified. Further details about the location of the incident are yet to be revealed.
