Sri Lankan police have retracted an earlier statement announcing the death of SLPP activist Dan Priyasad, who was shot at the Laksanda Sevana apartment complex in Meethotamulla.
While the police spokesman initially confirmed his death, a subsequent update clarified that Priyasad is still alive and currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Colombo National Hospital.

SLPP activist Dan Priyasad has succumbed to injuries sustained in a shooting incident at the Laksanda Sevana apartment complex in Meethotamulla earlier today.
Police Spokesman confirmed that Priyasad was pronounced dead at the Colombo National Hospital, where he was admitted with gunshot injuries.
Further investigations into the incident are currently underway. (Newswire)
