Former Member of Parliament Ajith Mannapperuma has resigned from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and withdrawn his nomination for the upcoming general elections following his removal as the party’s chief organizer for the Gampaha electorate.
Mannapperuma announced his decision after the organizer post was reassigned without prior notice. In a statement, he expressed frustration with party leader Sajith Premadasa over the decision, saying he was not informed of the change.
“I feel betrayed by this decision,” Mannapperuma said, explaining that he had already submitted his nomination for the elections but decided to withdraw it in response.
The SJB has not issued a statement on the matter, and no comments have been made by Premadasa at the time of reporting. (NewsWire)
