A judge and clerk of the Kaduruwela Quazi Court have been arrested by officials of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) over allegations of soliciting and accepting a bribe.
They were arrested based on a complaint filed by a female resident of Kaduruwela who had filed for divorce on June 18, 2025, at the court.
The complainant has alleged that the judge and the clerk had demanded a bribe of Rs. 100,000 to deliver a favourable ruling in her case.
Acting on the complaint, Bribery Commission officers arrested the two suspects at the Kaduruwela Quazi Court premises at 9:11 am and 9:35 am today. (Newswire)
