Duminda Silva hospitalized again within 24 hours of returning to prison

Former Member of Parliament Duminda Silva was admitted to Colombo National Hospital on January 11, a day after being transferred to the general ward of the Welikada Prison, due to a sudden medical condition.

Dr. Kumara Wickramasinghe, Deputy Director of Colombo National Hospital, confirmed that Silva is receiving inpatient care.

Silva, who served as the Supervisory MP under the Ministry of Defence during the Mahinda Rajapaksa administration, was convicted and sentenced to death. He had spent a significant portion of his remand custody in hospitals. His recent transfer to a regular prison facility followed recommendations from medical specialists.  (NewsWire)
